If there’s one thing that coronavirus has been lacking, it’s a (humorous) folk ballad that we can all rally around. So my mate Chris and I (under the supervision of the amazing Carrie Hardie) whipped this up last night. There are a few fumbles and a few bits that are a little rough around the edges, but to make it perfect would need us to meet up again, and so in the spirit of social distancing, we present it to you as a tribute to the times in which we live and with an appeal to think of each other and the collective effect our actions have. Anyway, the song says it better than I could.
Special thanks for Redgum for the wonderful original and of course respect to the Vietnam veterans that the original song was about. The song references the Anzac spirit and I think we all need it more than ever at this time. If you like it PLEASE SHARE IT.
